I'm now a freelancer.

It’s a bit of a strange feeling, but in a good way.

I’ve been a copywriter on a freelance basis before, so it’s not totally foreign to me.

There are, of course, pros and cons.

The cons? I have to be self-motivated, there’s less security, and annual leave? What’s that?

But I think the positives outweigh the negatives.

I get to work my own hours.

I don’t have to drive to the office, because it’s my dining table.

I can work 9am to 5pm. Or 9pm to 5am.

There’s no strict dress code. In fact, there’s not even a loose one.

The politics and dramas of agency life are, for the moment, behind me.

Now I just do the work, which is what I’ve always loved doing.

But the best thing?

I get to work with a variety of clients, agencies and design studios, meeting old friends and making new ones along the way.
